Arctic vs Antarctic

Good morning Year 5! I hope you all had a wonderful weekend, did you do anything fun? 

So it can be really easy to get confused between the Arctic and the Antarctic so here is a video to help you with key facts. 


After you have watched it, can you list at least 5 differences between the two?

    1.The Artic is surrounded by land and the Antarctic by sea.
    2.The Artic has Polar Bears but not Penguins and the Antarctic is the opposite.
    3.The Artic has people living on it but the Antarctic has not.
    4.The Artic is on the North Pole and the Antarctic is on the South Pole.
    5.The Artic is sea and the Antarctic is land.

    Amazing - well done Della! Your very right, the Arctic is sea ice that actually melts and freezes every year whereas the Antarctic is ice covered land mass. - Miss Oner
